Any writers in the House?

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here is an amazing competition for all those who love to write! The deadline has been extended up to the end of the month to give an opportunity to everyone to participate.

Our NATIONAL WRITING CHAMPIONSHIP in commemoration of the Founders Day was rolled out in October and will be running till the end of this month of November.

Here are the guidelines for participants:

Writing Topic: “Holding a hand to touch God’s heart.”

Eligibility: 

Participation is open to all Members and Officers of the Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade of Uganda.

Participant Categories:

Junior Class: 8 -12 years

Teen Class: 13 - 17 years

Master Class: 18 -30 years

Writing criterion: 

A participant may freely choose to express themselves with regards the topic using any of the following:

1- An essay

2- A poem

3- A short story

4- An article

5- Song lyrics

Submissions Deadline: 30th November, 2023 at 12:00 pm.

Submissions should be made online by sending an email with an attachment to [email protected].

The Championship Guidelines:

All entries must be original pieces of the participants own work.

Conscience of the rising use of AI (Artificial Intelligence), all participants shall be subjected to an authenticity test with regards their entries.

Participants should therefore desist from having their pieces implicated upon by AI as discovery of such an entry shall lead to an automatic disqualification. -

All entries shall be typed in the Font: Baskerville Old Face in Font size 14. - There is no limit on how many words one may use in the championship, but only entries in the English language shall be accepted to compete.

Participants in the junior and the Teen classes respectively may have their write-ups submitted by their Officers.

However, the merits of judging the entries will differ from one writing category to another i.e. the higher the class, the more expectations and so sophistication of judgments. This applies to the awards per category, but does not apply to deadlines and terms associated with the originality of the write-ups.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Members and Officers from Namirembe Diocese for the successful commissioning ceremony for over 100 Officers and 1000 members in the Diocese on 9th October 2023. The Bishop of Namirembe Diocese presided over the event which was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe.

Congratulations to Members and Officers from 1st Lwadda Company who have successfully purchased instruments for Brass Band to be used for Ministry.
